Description: Similar to Bartsch 442; TIB 442; Delaborde 199. An unrecorded second variant plate or duplicate of B442 from within Marcantonio's workshop, or a skillful reproduction by an unidentiifed artist contemporary to Raimondi (See Parshall and Landau). Signed in plate with Raimondi's monogram "MAF" lower right. A rich, clear and brilliant impression, most likely early second quarter of the 16th century, in fine condition aside from minor areas of paper weakness and a single pinhole along the left paper edge near the sceptor. Trimmed within platemark, on to, or just within image borderline; with image borderline visible at left and bottom. Ex-collection Michael Berolzheimer.
